Duluth, MN – The Archer Brothers team announced today that Tommy Archer, driver of the #54 Kolar Chevrolet/Koolmat Camaro, will not be participating at this weekends ‘The Classic Tube 100’ on Sunday, May 15 at Watkins Glen International Raceway in Watkins Glen, NY. Due to unforeseen circumstances related to delays in delivery and installation of an onboard system, the team will remain at Archer Brothers headquarters located in Duluth, MN and continue to prepare for the teams next planned race at New Jersey Motorsports Park on June 12.
Tommy and the Archer Brothers team anticipated participating in the full season with the intention of competing for the 2016 Trans Am TA2 Championship and will now shift focus and race in select races competing for wins and podium finishes. “While it’s unfortunate that we will not be racing this weekend at Watkins Glen, we want to race, be competitive and do it right. I hope to be back on the track next month and racing for the win,” says Tommy.
On a lighter note, Tommy’s most recent cancer related blood tests have come back with encouraging results and Tommy is very optimistic on the future progress and outcome within his cancer journey.
