Duluth, MN – Tommy Archer and the Archer Brothers team had a unique off-season since their last race of the 2015 season in November but could not be more motivated to be back to the track in 2016. Archer, driver of the #54 Koolmat/Kolar Chevrolet Camaro was unable to be with his team for the majority of the off-season due to completing 7 weeks of prostate cancer radiation treatments at the Mayo Clinic. After his treatments were finished in January, it has been a battle and quick turnaround for Tommy to regain his endurance and preparation for the 12 race season. But as the fierce competitor that he is, Tommy is fully ready to buckle into the race car and compete in the 2016 Trans Am TA2 series, which celebrates 50 years as an auto racing series this year.
Tommy comes off a successful 4th place finish at Sebring in 2015 and this track has always had a little extra excitement to it, being the site of Tommy’s first ever professional race. Additionally, the entire Archer Brothers team is eager to participate in the full season and fight for the 2016 Championship which they were not able to do in 2015. “I have always done very well in the bumpy environment that this old track produces. I am confident that the Archer Brothers crew has put a real good car together for me and I cannot wait to get underway on a track that has always been a special track for me,” says Tommy.
The 2016 season has brought former marketing partners stepping in to fill the major marketing partner roles within the team. Both KoolMat Insulation and Kolar Chevrolet were onboard the #54 Chevrolet Camaro in 2015 and we are pleased to announce their continued support and partnership for the 2016 season. In addition, the Archer Brothers team would like to thank all of our current supporting marketing partners for the 2016 season: Koolmat, Kolar Chevrolet, Morgan Stanley, BTS Industries, Penske Shocks, TeamTech Motorsports, Quarter Master Industries and Elite Tinting and Graphics. Marketing Partner Opportunities are still available for the 2016 season – please contact us for more information.
