Duluth, MN – Tommy Archer and the Archer Brothers racing team will partner with ECC Motorsports and driver Adam Andretti for the next 2 rounds of the Trans Am TA2 series at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, MN and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, OH.
ECC Motorsports operations are led by Arne and AJ Henriksen, who bring over 30+ years’ experience in the auto racing industry and team driver Adam Andretti, last year’s TA2 championship runner-up and rookie of the year, behind the wheel of the #44 Dodge Challenger. “I’m looking forward to working with one of the most respected drivers and teams in the auto racing industry. Putting the names of Archer and Andretti under one team banner just makes sense,” says Henriksen.
The ECC Motorsports team and Archer Brothers teams will continue to prep and race their cars respectively but will join forces as a larger team to share information and collaborate. It will be a natural fit for Adam Andretti and Tommy Archer, who get along as friends off the track, to start working together as partners on the track. Archer, who finished 2nd at last years race at Brainerd, is eager to be back on his hometown track with his new teammate. “Brainerd is a special track – having raced and won here many times throughout my career, I can’t wait to be back. At the end of the race, I hope to be on the podium next to Adam celebrating our successes!’ says Archer.
Track activities for next weekend’s Ryan Companies Independence Day Classic at Brainerd International Raceway start on Friday, July 1 with the green flag of the 100 mile/40 lap Trans Am TA2 race waving at 1:00 pm CST on Sunday, July 3.
