ARCHER AIMS FOR PODIUM FINISH AT ROAD ATLANTA

    By Katy Archer | Uncategorized | 0 comment | 1 August, 2016 | 0

Duluth, MN – The Archer Brothers team are eagerly on their way back to the track after almost a month off, following the season opener of the 2016 Trans Am TA2 season in Sebring, Florida. Road Atlanta will be the site of this weekend’s TA2 Powered by AEM Infinity race, among the competitive 28 car field.  After quite a thrilling and excitement filled race in Florida, resulting in an 11th place finish after starting from the back of the field and competing in the top 3, Tommy and the Archer Brothers team couldn’t be more excited to return to Road Atlanta this weekend.

The Archer Brothers success at Road Atlanta began in 1980 where Tommy raced in the SCCA National Runoffs as a central division qualifier in GT 4. Tommy won the pole, Brother Bobby qualified 2nd and when the checkered flag flew – Bobby took home the win and captured the National Championship with Tommy close behind in 2nd place.  While the track has had changes over the years since then, it remains a favorite for Tommy by creating the true test of man and machine with its fast turns, serious elevation changes and high speed turns.

The Archer Brothers crew has been working hard to continue to dial in and fine tune the #54 Koolmat/Kolar Chevrolet Camaro to Tommy’s liking. “Every time we go to a race we learn more about what makes the car and I more in sync.  Our car is fast and I know we proved that at Sebring – now it’s time to make it happen again at Atlanta and hopefully end the race on the podium,” says Tommy.

Tommy and the Archer Brothers team takes to the track with race activities starting on Friday and the ‘TA2 Powered by AEM Infinity Race’ – 100 Miles/40 laps or 70 minute race on Sunday, April 10th beginning at 12:30pm EST.  Stay up to date with all the latest information by visiting our Archer Brothers Racing Facebook page and follow along with live timing and scoring via the Race Monitor app or visit www.gotransam.com.
